Your business has grown. Your financial operations need to grow with it.
Capital Status manages the financial operations behind established businesses, keeping the numbers moving, the obligations handled and giving you clear visibility over what is actually happening.

You didn't build this business to become the person holding every part of it together. You built it to create options.
For yourself. For your family. For whatever you decide comes next. But as the business grows, so does the weight behind it. More people. More money moving. More decisions. More consequences when something gets missed.

When the infrastructure is strong enough to hold the business, you don't have to carry every piece of it yourself.
Financial operations doesn't stop when the books reconcile.

Reconciliation might tell us an invoice was short-paid. Financial operations is noticing it, understanding why, deciding what needs to happen next and making sure it does.
It's bookkeeping, payroll, BAS, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting and financial administration that keep the numbers accurate. And it's the work between those tasks that keeps the business moving.
You can outsource the financial function without outsourcing your understanding of the business.
Think about how many invoices are sitting in your inbox right now.
Some have been paid. Some haven't. A few might have been sent twice. Others are waiting for approval, and somewhere among them is a supplier statement you haven't had time to check.
Now imagine none of that sitting with you. The invoices arrive with us, and are reviewed, recorded and prepared for payment. What reaches you is a clear picture of what needs paying, what is outstanding and what needs your approval.
Your responsibility is to run the business. Ours is to make sure its financial operations keep moving.
Someone who knows your business. Not just your Xero file.
We know which clients pay late. Which suppliers need following up. When payroll is approaching, what your tax obligations look like and which numbers deserve a second look.
We learn the way your business operates and the people involved, so when something doesn't look right, you aren't the one who has to notice it first. You still make the decisions that belong to you. We make sure you have what you need to make them.
You shouldn't have to manage the people you've hired to manage your finances.
There is a particular kind of relief in knowing something has been taken care of without having to ask.
We work autonomously. We know when your BAS is approaching, when payroll needs processing and what needs to happen before the quarter closes. You stay involved in the decisions that need your approval, but making sure everything happens is no longer yours to carry.
You know what to set aside.
After every pay run and each week, we tell you exactly what to reserve for GST, PAYG and super, well before those amounts fall due. Nothing arrives as a surprise.
We're checking the details.
Reconciliations, internal reviews and transaction checks happen as part of the work. Anything that doesn't meet our standard is investigated before the period closes.
The work is already in motion.
Everything is prepared, outstanding matters are resolved and lodgement is coordinated with our registered tax agent, with your authorisation where it's required.
You don't have to carry the responsibility of remembering. We do.
“It genuinely feels like our companies are in safe hands. You've become trusted advisors rather than just accountants. I never feel like I'm chasing answers.”
“I have always had bookkeepers throughout my business journey and none of them have really been helpful or insightful. I was genuinely at my wits' end, and am so stoked I now have someone proactive to help me.”
“It's given me confidence knowing I've got someone in my corner who genuinely cares about the business. I have full trust that you're doing everything right on your side, and that has taken a lot of stress off me.”
Found because someone was looking.
An $832K trades business, projecting $1M. In thirty minutes we found fourteen issues.
A reconciliation that didn't balance. $108K of income tax entered incorrectly. A $96K ATO payment plan potentially based on the wrong profit figure. And $185K of completed work that had never been invoiced. The business was performing well. The books just weren't reflecting it.
A business that grew from one person to thirty contractors, faster than its systems could follow.
Nobody could easily check the hours being billed against the work, or whether every contractor held a valid ABN. Contractor invoices weren't being loaded or matched to the right bills, payments had been marked as paid without ever being matched to the bank, and income was overstated, with no clear view of what was actually collectable. It took eight weeks of line-by-line onboarding to rebuild a picture the owner could trust.
A founder had been quoted a tax bill of around $60,000, and that didn't even include the capital gain on a property she'd sold at the peak of the market.
Her return had been prepared on an accruals basis, taxing more than $120,000 of income she hadn't yet been paid, and legitimate deductions were sitting in owner drawings. We lodged on a cash basis, claimed what she was entitled to and accounted for the capital gain properly. Her final tax payable came to $36,937.
Most overpayments don't look like $11,000. They look like a $2,172.50 invoice. A $5,274.50 one.
A contracting business was paying suppliers from their statements without checking them against what had already left the bank. Invoices paid in November were paid again in December. When we read the statements line by line, one supplier was holding $9,069.50 of the business's money and another $2,722.25. That's $11,791.75 of working capital earning interest in someone else's bank, and neither supplier had ever mentioned it. We raised it and recovered it.
An invoice issued in July had still not been paid the following May.
The customer was certain it had been. We checked the bank, went back with the detail and asked for a remittance. Three days later their accounts team confirmed it had never been paid. They apologised, and $8,466.13 landed in the account.
A growing team, on a payroll the previous accountants had set up incorrectly.
When a leave balance was questioned, we didn't estimate. We rebuilt four years of weekly payslips one pay at a time, and found leave that had been over-credited, periods where it hadn't accrued at all and an entitlement that had never appeared on a payslip. Then we put the wider risk in front of the owner in writing, before it became anyone else's problem.
The Private Client Experience.
One way to work with us, in three steps. We understand your business first, establish what it needs, then manage it with you. Twelve private clients at a time.

The Xero Audit
A review of your existing file and a findings call. You'll know what's in good order, what needs attention and whether we're the right fit. If we are, you'll receive our recommended onboarding scope and investment, and your anticipated retainer, before you commit to anything further.
The Onboarding Intensive
Before taking responsibility for your financial operations, we establish the systems, processes and working relationships that will support them. For some, a considered handover of a well-maintained accounting function. For others, rebuilding workflows, strengthening controls and coordinating the people behind the numbers. Quoted individually, so you only invest in the work your business actually requires.
The Retainer
Ongoing management of your finance function, including BAS preparation and lodgement and your trading company's annual tax return, with no additional fees for either. You approve; we prepare, follow up and bring you what needs a decision.

Close enough to notice.
We deliberately work with a limited number of businesses. Not because we believe exclusivity alone makes something valuable, but because the standard of work we provide requires familiarity.
We need to understand your financial rhythms. Your people. Your projects. What is normal for your business, and what isn't. That familiarity is what allows us to notice the things that might otherwise go unseen.
It's also why every engagement is considered individually, and why we begin with your existing accounts before recommending how we work together.
The infrastructure your business is built on determines the decisions you're capable of making.

Before you begin.
Where do I start?+
With the Xero Audit. It shows us both where your file stands and whether the Private Client Experience is right for you, before either of us commits to anything bigger.
Will I know the investment before I commit?+
Yes. Following your Xero Audit we recommend the onboarding scope, timeframe and investment, alongside your anticipated ongoing retainer. The final retainer scope is confirmed during onboarding.
My books are behind. Is that a problem?+
Not at all. If historical bookkeeping, reconciliations, coding, GST or payroll need substantial work, it's scoped and completed separately, so your partnership begins on a clean foundation.
Why is there an intensive before the retainer?+
Because we won't take responsibility for a finance function we haven't set up properly. Onboarding is tailored to the existing condition and complexity of your business, and quoted individually after your audit.
Can I keep my accountant?+
Yes. If you love who you work with, we coordinate with them. If not, lodgements are prepared with and lodged by our registered tax agent partner.
Can you look after the rest of my group's tax?+
Yes. Your company's return is included in the retainer. Trusts, personal returns and a partner's sole trader business can sit alongside it at a fixed annual fee each.
How many clients do you take on?+
Twelve founders at a time. It's deliberate. It's how we stay close enough to your numbers to notice what matters.
Before we take responsibility, we take the time to understand.
Every prospective partnership begins with a Xero Audit. We examine the existing accounting file, identify areas requiring attention and establish whether Capital Status is the right partner for your business.
If we believe we can help, we'll outline the onboarding work required and the anticipated ongoing investment. You'll know what you're committing to before the partnership begins.
